Many homes in our area were built before the use of lead was outlawed or discontinued. This leaves many homes that may have a higher than usual level of lead in the potable drinking water. Although all municipalities take some sort of action to prevent lead from leaching into your drinking water, the fact remains that it is there. Should your water service main become depressurized or some debris makes its way into the pipe, lead can be released into your drinking water.
